Anthony Gruppuso, the company’s founder, was a well-rounded individual. He was a man who read every book there was on the subject, had special bottles sent in from abroad, was a great mixologist, and aged his own negronis. He was a man who desired to distill alcohol. He intended to turn on the still and make his own fire water, Mother Genever, eau-de-vie, and kill-me-quick from the finest materials, from grain to glass.
From dream to still, it was a long and arduous trip, but we marched on, smashed through barriers, and arrived at this point. We are a group of aspirational individuals that constantly work to improve both their own lives and the world in which they live. We aim to propagate our credo and our love for what we do. Instead of encouraging being better through alcohol, we advocate participating in community activities, being kind to your neighbors, making new friends, pursuing your aspirations, and creating a loving environment. We will become an epicenter of love and transformation, with the effects spreading throughout the neighborhood, the nation, and the world thanks to the atmosphere of our tasting room, events, and community outreach.
In the US, craft distilling has taken the place of craft brewing 20 years ago. Young adults in America are particularly fascinated by the ingenuity and skill that go into craft spirits and cocktails. The science behind distilling, local pride, small business support, Instagrammability of colorful or flaming cocktails, the need for something distinctive in a world of sameness, and the high-class vibe of cocktail culture are just a few of the causes of this growing interest. The drinking culture is about to undergo a significant transformation. The five boroughs, which are home to numerous prosperous craft distilleries, have a significant interest in craft spirits and, consequently, creative cocktails. Long Island is becoming more and more the focus of this fascination, particularly in burgeoning, young communities like Patchogue Village.
Being the first urban artisan distillery on Long Island, we are at the vanguard of a trend that is still in its infancy. We are in a prime place to promote tourism to Patchogue Village and the island as a whole because we are located in a rapidly growing community on the way to the Hamptons and Fire Island. The distillery’s experience makes us more than just a bar or neighborhood hangout; it makes us a destination for craft spirits and education, to which people would travel great distances.
